BOSF Activities Update
Aug. 2nd, 2006 10:09 amThe board of BOSF has decided to offer the 9th board position and Activities Coordinator position to one of the candidates who did not make it on the board this year. And I am totally cool with that. I was looking forward to working with doing the Activities position, but the board felt that since there was a bank card issued to the activities coordinator, they felt the person holding that should be a board member.
"The Activities person, while able to be an "at-large" member, does have access to the Activities card which houses a BOSF account. This was added 2 years ago to facilitate reservations, etc. Because it is a fiduciary-responsible card linking to the club's finances, the Board agreed that: The person whose name is on the card needs to be a Board member the person whose name is on the card should also be the Activities person, to reduce delegation work and potential miscommunication problems."
Personally, I think there are ways around this particular concern, but they have made their decision and I am okay with that.
This actually opens my schedule back up completely to do the things I want to do. I hope that the new Activities Coordinator marches forward with great planned events for BOSF.
