I talked to Nikki last night after final bingo on the cruise. Her Mom told me they were doing some Colegate promo thing in San Francisco next week. Nikki said to contact her via her Myspace page and she would get me the details.

I went searching and could not find the one that was hers. There are several non-approved ones. I told her that last night and she said "Here is my personal email address, email me, and I will send you the info... I really want to meet your friend."!

[livejournal.com profile] boyshapedbox, I do hope you can get a couple of hours off from work the day she will be in town.

Since leaving Mexico, the waters have been really rough. I had dinner, and did some coutry dancing, but it was tough swaying as much as we are.
I got ready for the leather party, and made an apperance then headed back to my room and just crashed. I was feeling sick, but did not throw up.

It is still as rough, and the ship is still swaying. Should make for very interesing country dance classes this morning.

And today there are a lot of ship activities that I would like to attend. I put on my motion sickness patch, so hopefully, things will go okay for the day.
Wheeeeee it's like a ride at Disney

Did a cataraman thing at Cozumel today. Was okay. Nothing stellar. Spent most of my time trying to convert talking to a straight guy. He was very interesting to talk to.

After that, got back on the tender to the ship and ran into Nikki.

She is really excited to be on the cruise. Her first one. Her Mom and singing coach are here with her. She is on until the last day. WHOO HOOO.
I told her about [livejournal.com profile] boyshapedbox being a huge fan.

Lunch, nap and back to the plethura of activities.
Fun time being had by all. YAY. Wish you were here.

I had the pleasure of getting to manage the D-List usher team for Saturday night's Kathy Griffin Show at the Castro Theatre. It was interesting dealing with assigned seating at a theatre where you usually just sit anywhere, but it went off with very few issues.

I picked 5 random folks for a meet and greet before the show, AND I was thrilled to volunteer to be the disembodied voice of the Castro Theatre and introduce Kathy following her introduction video.

I really enjoyed the show a lot.

I tried to assemble all of the Ushers after the show (20 of us) for a possible photo op, but some of them left right away.. The one's that stayed were all in the right place at the right time.

I headed her off at the exit and asked if we could do a group shot. She was more than happy to.

Someone said to her right after the photo "Kathy what a great show" to which she replied with a big smile "What a GREAT audience"!!

VACATION's

All I ever wanted..

My vacation officially starts now. I am off work from now until March 4th. YAY. I'm so ready for these 2 weeks.

I have heard a couple of things which I find annoying about Paul Moffett, president of PO Plus.

First I heard he outright does not support the flying of a "Bear" flag on the flag poll at Market and Castro during IBR. BOSF has been trying for over 3 years to get approval of the Merchants Assocation. The Bear community is a pretty big deal in SF I think. He has been fighting it every step.

Now I read on SF Gate today regarding the filming of "Milk"

Paul Moffett, president of PO Plus, called an offer of $200 a day to remove his Castro Street store's signs offensive and unacceptable. He continued, "Look, I'm very supportive of the movie. But they can't tell me this isn't going to impact my business or that there'll be this big influx when the movie comes out. I can't even turn the lights on and pay my employees for $200 a day."

WHAT?? It's not like they asked him to close his store. Sad

My Sunday

Was a good Sunday....

I got up, showered, got dressed and headed to the Castro to drop off [livejournal.com profile] enhydrasf a Treo 650 phone that uses a Sim card so he could have a working phone while in Australia. It was really great to see him and give him a send off kiss and hug!! I'm sure he will be in good hands there.

I then headed to [livejournal.com profile] poohbearjim's Celebration of Life. It was amazing. One of the best I have ever been to. I cried, I laughed, I laughed some more. I thought... I want mine to be just like this. It was nice to see all the faces of Jim's friends and family. I was rather impressed with Jim's Dad who spoke about Jim's childhood. He was such an amazing speaker. I stopped him and chatted for a few minutes after the service.
It was really awesome that while it rained during the entire service, that the rain stopped very shortly after, and I was able to enjoy the beautiful view.

When I left to go to Sundance Saloon, (Thanks [livejournal.com profile] redbackfur) I was in a pretty good mood. Even though when I got there, I knew I was going to be doing some very tedious work on the dance floor (repairing it), I was feeling good.

The rest of the night was wonderful. Something just filled me with energy, and I was enjoying my night there more then I ever remember! I was putting so much energy into my dancing. Putting more style into line dancing. Smiling the whole time. Someone said to me when I saw him and whisked him onto the dance floor "WOW You are in rare form tonight"!

I don't know, I think the thing that stood out most about Jim's service was that we should live life, and enjoy, and I think that must have really stuck in my head last night as I was out dancing. Certainly not on the forefront of my mind, but somewhere in there, the memory of Jim and the joy of so many helped make January 27th, 2008 a very very wonderful day!

Ushers??

Jan. 15th, 2008 03:55 pm
dhbearguy: (Default)
EDIT: I have found 3 ushers.

Hey there my friends.

I have a unique offer for 3 people who would be interested.

As most of you know, IBR is hosting Kathy Griffin on Saturday night, the 16th.

SF MovieBears has been asked to provide some ushers for the show. The usher positions will be either showing folks to their seats, or taking tickets at the door.

All of the ushers are invited to stay for the show (Standing room only) which starts at 11pm.

There will be a short training session on a date prior to the show... How hard could it be right???

If you are interested, please let me know, and if you agree, you must commit to the task.

So lemme know.

Icky, short for Ichabod was my ex's kitty for about 18 years. He was the ultimate lap cat. Always loved attention, playful, and purr'd like crazy.

Richard (tecwizsfo) informed me that he had to put him down today. He had cancer and the Doc only gave him 2 weeks to live, and surgery and chemo would not have given him any better of a quality of life.

I am so glad I got to see him when I was in Austin. I knew it would be the last time I got to snuggle him.

Farewell you big fat bundle of fur. I will miss you!

In AIM chat with Mom....

Mom: Ok I love you Later

Me: Can't you love me now, why does it have to be later?

Mom: Up Yours!

Gotta Love her!
dhbearguy: (Default)
I called my Mom. I started chatting with her asking her about where we lived when I was growing up. Well, I know where we lived, but I don't remember what years.

So I got on the phone and I asked here what years we lived where, and we worked our right right up until I was 16 and moved in with my Dad.

So why not a meme. The where did you live meme.

I'm breaking down my childhood because I think some things are kind of interesting.

July 66 Born in a Hospital in Little Falls NY
66 - Oppenheim NY
66-68 - Philmont, NY
68-70 - Laconia NH - Dad left Mom with 4 kids and $50.00
70-72 - 36 North Division St, St. Johnsville, NY
72-74 - 38 N Division St, St. Johnsville, NY - It was here I started exploring and noticing other boys including the neighbor boy.
74-75 - We were poor and moved into the brand new low income projects in St. Johnsville, NY
75-78 - 84 West Main, St. Johnsville - We had a neighbor who used to try to lure us in his house for money to do dirty things with him.
78-81 - 36 - Back to 36 N. Division St. Hmm, the same neighbor boy was still next door. Actually used to feel way guilty because I was going to church on a regular basis.
81 - 82 - 38 N. Division. Moved into the apartment where the neighbor boy used to live.
82-85 - Oppenheim, NY - Had my first "real" gay experience with a high school friend.
85-86 - Lived with my girlfriend in Ft. Plain NY - UGH
86 - Herkimer NY
86-87 - Back with Dad
87-88 - Gloversville NY with Mom - Came out of the closet YAY!!!
88 Johnstown NY
89 Fultonville NY
89-93 Utica NY
93 - 97 Orlando FL
97 - 99 Austin TX
99 - 02 Dallas TX
02 - 03 South San Francisco
03 - Present - San Francisco

Of course, she had to ask why I was all of sudden asking about all this and had to tell her that I was trying to figure out how old I was when I started noticing guys!
