D-List Ushers

I had the pleasure of getting to manage the D-List usher team for Saturday night's Kathy Griffin Show at the Castro Theatre. It was interesting dealing with assigned seating at a theatre where you usually just sit anywhere, but it went off with very few issues.

I picked 5 random folks for a meet and greet before the show, AND I was thrilled to volunteer to be the disembodied voice of the Castro Theatre and introduce Kathy following her introduction video.

I really enjoyed the show a lot.

I tried to assemble all of the Ushers after the show (20 of us) for a possible photo op, but some of them left right away.. The one's that stayed were all in the right place at the right time.

I headed her off at the exit and asked if we could do a group shot. She was more than happy to.

Someone said to her right after the photo "Kathy what a great show" to which she replied with a big smile "What a GREAT audience"!!

It was an awesome time, even though we were in the way baaaaack row of the theatre! And she really was a sweetie, and so petite! We saw Steve Wozniak too!

Glad everyone had fun. I sooooo wanted to go, but just bad timing this year with the whole surgery recovery thing.
I just love Kathy and I hope she enjoys coming to do these sorts of gigs as much as we enjoy having her here.

For sure next year if they ask her to come back, I'm going!!!
