So work is fucking annoying me. We are overwhelmed with work and not enough people to handle the work load. I have been in the office 10 hours a day for the last few work days. I need to stop or ask for compensation.

Today when I headed to lunch at McDonalds, I got there and used the rest room. There was an older employee in there using the urinal. While I was doing my business, he finished up and out the door he went. Didn't even wash his hands.

Now if I am not mistaken, isn't it a law in California that ALL employees MUST wash their hands after. blah blah blah???
So I went up to the counter to let the swing manger know. He tried to make an excuse. That as long as he washed his hands, or something. I said, Ohh? he is retuning to work in the dining area and did not wash his hands. He continued to try to tell me something other then what the law required. By this time, there are several people around including employees and another regular manger walked up and said what is the problem. I told her and she just said "Thank you for letting us know, you can be assured it will be taken care of" YAY A manager who knows how to make a customer happy. If Mr. Swing said that, I would have just placed my order on on to eating. Lesson learned.. if you are a manager and someone reports something wrong with another employee, listen and say it will be addressed.

While I was waiting for my food, this guy approached me and said "Do you have the blue car with the rainbow sticker?" I said umm yeah I do. He said, "oh cool so are you angry about the Presidents statement today?" I said, umm no no, I have not even heard yet. So he told me about it and invited me to sit and have lunch with him. Nice guy, we talked politics and marriage. Was a nice conversation. Maybe I will see him again out and about and we can talk some more. Not my type at all, but was a real pleasure to talk to.

Square dancing was fun. I got used to starting at 8, no one said the tips would start at 7:30 now. So of course I was late. It was also frustrating that we had someone in my first square who has not finished mainstream in another club and is really behind. So our square was broken down most of the time. He had trouble in all the squares. I overheard him ask Mr. President of he could get a jump start on Plus since they are 12 or so calls behind. Rick asked if he felt comfortable? He replied yes. I am thinking that the angles and board should be asked. I would not even attempt a new level unless I was sure I could finish my current one. It is not fair to the other students. But then, I guess there are no rules.
Now if you are Like [livejournal.com profile] fuzzygruf then you can take the book and jump ahead and learn it all and there you have it. You are in the C2 class in less then 2 years. Hunni, you are my Sq dance hero.

Okay enough from me for now. Need to send my next BML post.
Hugs

Working in the grocery business. We have the very same rule regarding hand washing. Yes you were right. And when Mr. Swing Manager wasn't getting you anywhere. I would have asked for his boss and jumped over his head. But that's just me.

I wish I had lunchtime happenings like you and so many others have of meeting someone during lunch and just having lunch and conversation with a total stranger. I work in the wrong city

Should I or Shouldn't I?

As "Mr. President", I was faced with one of those decisions last night that I hate. Deciding if I should let someone move up a level based on nearly no direct experience (I arrived late due to some work being done on my place). I asked one of the two callers that will be teaching the class, he said "he's going to need to study at home but he can do it". I asked the student if he felt he was ready as a lead in question (knowing he'd say yes). I responded that he'd have to do extra work, mentioned both learning the definitions of the calls he didn't know, checking out the on line animations, and when he's dancing, hook up with a strong angel as his partner, and that it wouldn't be easy. On this basis, I agreed to let him take the class. But the student doesn't do his homework, I've no real problem bouncing him.
