So I was wanting a new Sprint Treo 650 phone. I sold my old phone on Ebay and am using the money to buy the new one.

The problem I ran into was, that Sprint was offering NEW customers $150 off the phone. But not current customers who have not had the same phone for 18 months. Well my contract is due to expire on December 16th. So I called and said they can either give me the $150 rebate, or they can lose a customer. They put me over to a "Customer Retention Rep". She sold me a new phone on a new line of service. Not only am I getting the $150.00 rebate, it is an instant rebate. ALSO, I am getting the exact same service plan I have now for $10.00 less then I am paying with my current plan. Talk about getting what I want and more.

I have been really happy with SprintPCS. Yes, they are not GSM, but I have been using them for over 3 years.

See, if you just try hard enough, you can get anything you want. Now if I can just get my hands on my favorite porn star!!!

You teach me how to line dance and I'll teach you how to play chess, okay? Warning, I'm not very coordinated though.

those two studs in the opening scene of Bear Tracks, or that one guy with the beard in the jacuzzi scene in Bear Necessities really push my buttons. Of course so does C.J., from Manhuntervideo, Of course, someone else does to- especailly a certain someone in a stetson. By the way, you do play chess, don't you? Have a great Thanksgiving.

With the phone market as it is, it's ridiculously easy to get these sorts of discounts all the time. Good on ya, buddy!

GSM SUCKS! I worked for Cingular for the blink of a bad singal and ditched them the first moment I could. I make work for SBC, but I love my Sprint service. That and Duane at the Castro store has been a champ on helping me out any time I had a problem!

Sprint rebates?

I had a similar encounter with Sprint in the summer of 2003. They adamantly refused to give me the rebate on the new phone. So I got a new number, cut off service to the old phone and essentially got the rebate for the price of sacrificing my phone number. However.. now that I can move my number to a different company, that little negotiating ploy won't work. Good for you in getting what you deserve!
