I have this thing for having static ip address's at home. I have used speakeasy.com for many years. Got them first when I lived in Dallas, then in South City and that didn't work out, then when I moved into the city, hooked up with them again. But their 6Mb down 768 up with static ip's and no phone line is not cheap.

I got a great offer in the mail from Comcast Internet. They have a work at home plan that costs half the price, and I locked in the price for 3 years, and have static IP address's YAY. And it is pretty fast I must say. Well right now, during the day, when no one is at home. We will see how it goes tonight.

YAY for saving money.

Well, if they don't work out, try RCN. I've used them for years. LAN line, cable and high speed access for $99 per month, or just get the cable and high speed for less.

We used them in South City after Speakeasy didn't work out. Alas, I have already checked, and my building owner would have to get a contract of some sort with them for the tenants to get them.

Let me know what you think after you use Comcast for awhile. We're probably moving in a few months and are also considering switching from Speakeasy DSL, which we like, to something less expensive.

SO far so good. Good speed, my remote desktop connection from work has been great. I like it better then the dsl.
