Saturday: Part II - Friends, Dancing, and The bartender blow-off
Josh and I got up and headed to my friends where I was to be spending Sat night. Dan and Ron. I spent the morning learning a couple of line dances with Dan. Texas Twisters, the group I started in 2001 was doing a line dance set and I wanted to do it with them. Did pretty well. After that, Dan went to work and Ron and I worked on getting their wireless network installed and the pc running. Success. I am such a geek.
After that, we went to dinner at Hunky's Hamburgers and met up with my good friend Thaddeus and his boyfriend Woody. YAY Thaddeus has a Woody!! Thaddeus and I met when I was working at his company and I was working on his computer. I was under his desk when he got back and thought he had a gift from the gods. Needless to say the hot bare chested Colt calendar was my immediate clue he was family. While at Hunky's I was mezmorized by the eyes and smile of Chris, one of the guys who works there. Very sweet person. Had to tell him to call me when he is in SF. He appreciated that and told me to expect an email from him. My friends were drooling over the Olympic divers on the TV, I was drooling over Chris.
Headed to the Round up for my country dance night. My dancing girl was there again. This time we danced a lot and impressed a lot of folks. It is a joy to put that much energy and comedy into dancing.
While I was trying to get to the dance floor at one point, this Dallas Attitude Queen I accidentally bumped into gave me a snotty look, even after I apologized. I ended up being a little snotty back and saying I'm sorry really loud and obnoxious. Oh, Did I mention I had a couple of drinks? This guy however is a perfect example of the Dallas Attitude everyone hates.
The Texas Twisters took the floor at about 11:15 and did our 2 dances. They were fun, though I was the one who did the worst. Hey, I had not been dancing them for weeks since we don't do them out here (YET!)
During my dancing evening, I asked a hot guy to dance. His name was John and he used to live in Atlanta. Nice dancer, great smile, great beard. After the dance he said "I really would love to spend more time with you but I am kinda on a date" I thought... Kinda????? Oh well. The dance was fun.
I went over to the Eagle again. Saw a bartender I knew named Eric. He was really glad to see me. I could tell by the kiss he gave me. He said he was sorry he and I never had a chance to hook up. I told him that was okay. He asked if I was doing anything that night. I said not at this time. He basically invited me to go with him. I agreed after finding out that he worked till 2am and then should be done by 3pm. The bar is usually open for after hours till at least 3pm.
During the evening of hanging out and cruising around, John showed up with his kinda date person. He was shirtless. WOOF what a nice build. Furry chest. *Drool* He kept cruising me every time I went by. At one point he stopped me and gave me his number. Told me to look him up next time I was in town. I gave him my card and on we moved. He kept cruising me. I think his Kinda Date, noticed, but did not appeared bothered by it.
At 3am I finally had to go outside and wait for Eric. He came out about 3:40 after all the other bartenders went home and told me he had to do inventory. I was like, call me a cab. He gave me a lift back to Dan's and Ron's. Now he did a very similar thing to me when he was living in Houston. So 2 strikes and he is OUT! What was funny is, he asked for my number and said he would call me around noon on Sunday. Whew, so glad I never hold my breath for things like that.
Sunday: No call Eric, Call from John, heading home!
Of course, I did not get a call from Eric. SHOCKER!!! I did get a call at 1:00pm from John. Wanted to know if I were free later on. Told him had a flight to catch and if could take me to the airport, I would be happy to meet up with him. He said he would try for sure if he could, he just wanted to say hi. It did not work out, but the fact that he called was enough to not consider him blowing me off.
Most of the rest of the day was uneventful. Went to a Twister dance rehearsal. Then Ron took me to the airport. Thought I would be cutting it close, but as it were equipment failures caused our flight to be 1 hour late. Got in about 11:00pm and Richard picked me up from the airport. Chatted with him till about midnight then went to bed.
