SF Moviebears
Nov. 19th, 2005 12:33 pmThanks to everyone who showed up last night for Harry Potter,
I met my Ticket Bitch
Steve and
Bert at their place and walked over to the Metreon food court for some dinner. Several people were already there. Mike Grant, my assistant ticket bitch was there waiting, as were
BigRedPaul, and a couple of other people. I set my things down and went to order food and Firewood where Noelbear and Clive were in the front of the line. Noel asked me what I wanted so I did not have to wait. Thanks Noel!
While I was waiting for my food,
Tony Morgan called me and asked me if I was handing out tickets yet. He said he was waiting to get in line, but you could not get in without your ticket. So I told him to come to the food court and see me. Before he got there, I got all the tickets, and drink coupons out and Mike G. Helped me start giving tickets out. Tony showed up with
Bill Vigna in tow. I think they had been drinking! GRIN
Everyone started showing up at the food court to get their tickets. Including
Kevin M,
Jp,
Pyro,
Richard K.,
Donovan and FTP, and other non, LJ users.
Around 5:55, Mike, rampagebear and I headed on over to the usual ticket location spot, where we spotted
Steven and
Gary headed our way. Over the course of 2 hours,
John S.,
Chuck,
Bill,
Ed,
Paulie,
MarkyBear,
KiltBear,
Greg,
Ed,
Dave M.,
Trey, and all the other non-lj ticket holders showed up. Of course
Luke was so busy at LeEdge he was the last to show and walked right by us when he got there.
I had sent Rampagebear up to his man to wait in line, and then finally Mike and I headed up to the theatre. I had asked tonymorg to hold me 2 seats somewhere near the back, center. When we came in Bill V. pointed us to our seats, and Tony was yelling, "Dave, we saved seats for you" and then pyrogeoff yelled "Dave we saved seats for you", then someone else yelled the same thing, then people from all over the theatre started yelling Dave!!! I got totally flush, and must have turned 6 shades of red. Something that almost never happens.
After the movie, I headed to the first floor for the photo shoot and give away question. The Metron Police gave me a hard time about using the stairs for the photo. Seems like they are all on power trips there. But since there were over 60 people there for the photo, he just stood and watched while we used the stairs anyways. I asked the question "What was the previous attendance record for Moviebears" I gave the clue after a bunch of close but wrong answers, of it being for Batman Begins. Bruce L., guessed 72 and scored 2 free tickets to Brokeback Mountain, and a copy of the book.
Headed to the Lonestar for a couple of drinks. They had allowed me to offer the movie attendees $1.00 off drinks. Thanks Jerry!! Then headed home.
It was a really fun night for me, no drama, little embarassment which secretly I liked the attention, well thats not secret really, and just plain FUN FUN FUN.
Thanks again to everyone who showed up and made it a fun adventure out.
