What a waste
Oct. 9th, 2005 08:05 amI feel like my Summer in Dallas has been somewhat of a waste.
I worked my ass off at this dance convention, spending a ton of money to be there that I could have used for something else.
Texas Twisters had this convention as a funraiser, and donated $4000.00 to 2 chartities. The problem is, they didn't publicize it.
First, Texas Twisters has always had problems getting publicized from it's host bar. It took forever for them to even get a alittle advertising up on the bar's tv screens.
2nd, the regular dance instructor at the Round up said she would suppor the organization any way she could but never lifted a finger to help/volunteer, or promote Texas Twisters or any of it's evens. Personal note, she is one of the worst instructors I have ever known.
3rd, the board of Texas Twisters made a $4000.00 donation to 2 charities, but did not even have a presentation event in public that would show the community, which has not been supporting Texas Twisters, that the event was a success, and did something good for the Dallas community.
4th, my questions about the publicity for the donations have gone unanswered by the Chair of the board.
I'm really dissappointed that they won't help themselves by showing in public what good they are doing for community. It is not only good for the community, but may even foster more interest in the group, and now even more dissappointed as they continue to ask me to do web and email list maintanance for them.
That may have to stop.
