Everyone's a little bit racist
Mar. 14th, 2005 09:57 pmWell, I guess I am, says my new EX friend.
So I went to dinner with him and he tells that he thinks there are 2 reasons that I don't like his black boyfriend.
1.Because I am jealous and want an intimate relationship with him. Him not the bf. (Far from the truth by the way)
2.Race
I could not believe it. I was shocked, I was angry, and it takes a LOT to get me angry.
First off, this coming from someone who feels that the entire bear community is racist. And that we do not allow people of race into our community. This based on the number of people of different races that are visible. To him I said that you cannot blame the bear community if there is a small percentage of people of different races that want to be a part of it.
I met his bf a few time in passing. Once at a bear movie night, and a couple of times in the Castro. I was cordial, yet we did not engage each other in conversation. We didn't click I guess, and that happens. You cannot click with everyone. It just does not happen! So because of this, he now labels me a racist.
I have never had issues with black people in our community. I have been able to talk to black people just as easy as white people. I have had attraction to black people, and even had some intimate times with one or 2. And this may even sounds Cliché, but my friend Sam has a good friend who is black and I think he is awesome to hang out with.
It is too bad I had to lose a friend over this, but he really needs to grow up and stop accusing the bear community of something that is just not going on. He is not going to keep friends at the rate he is going.
