Day from Hell
May. 13th, 2004 04:29 pmI have never been prone to headaches. If I get a headache, I hardly ever take anything for it. They usually are very short lived.
I had to get up to be in to work at 7am this morning. When I got up at 5:45, my head was pounding. I got in the shower and could not believe how bad this headache was. I got out and took 3 Motrin. Or something similar. I then called my boss and told her I had a bad headache and that I would not make it in the hour early and laid down for about another hour.
After getting up, I still had the headache. It seems a little better and I thought maybe it would get batter as the day went on. I got in the car and headed up the street, turned the corner went about 30 feet and got dizzy, my head pounded, and I felt like I had to vomit. I pulled over for a minute, and then turned around and went home. I woke up tecwizsfo and asked him to call my boss for me. He had me lay down and covered my head with a dark shirt to keep light out so I could relax and possibly sleep. All I could think of was how the hell do I make this pain go away. I have never had such a headache before in my life. I had heard migrains are brutal, but I had no idea. All these thoughts of how to make it stopped came to mind, including some extreme idea. All I wanted was the pain to go away.
About 9am, my phone rang and I got up and Richard and I chatted a bit about migrains.
I then decided to head on into work. I took one more Excedrin Migrain and here I am.
Work is brutal today. Call after call after call. We have one person out sick, and one on vacation. The manager even had to take calls. I am actually out at 5 since I have dinner and show tickets for tonight. I apologized that I coudl not stay and offered an hour extra tomorrow.
I hope I never have to go thru that again and feel really bad for thoese who live with this kind of thing every day.
Hugs
