Cicus Chimera

dhbearguyA buch of us went to Circus Chimera last night in Hayward. I have not been to the circus since I was a kid. I think there was only one in the village I grew up in in Upstate NY the entire time I lived there. This circus was not much like that one, but it was really really fun.
The evening started out with us all going back stage. We got to see where they ate and prepared to go on stage. We also got to meet many of the performers and hear about things they did. I got the impression that they are one big happy family who like what they do.
The acts were amazing to watch. I especially liked the magician lady olga who changed from one outfit to another in a split second.
The show is going to be in San Francisco from August 10th - 15th. If you have not been to a circus in a long time, I would totally reccommend you go see this show. Put aside what you think about circus acts, as a place for just kids. I am sure you will not be dissappointed.

And if you pay attention, you will notice that the person that takes your ticket, or sells you your popcorn, in 15 minutes will be strutting around in spandex, flying through the air, or teetering on barrels! They do all the work...this is not a pamered life.
