So, when I lived in Dallas, I used to go to Show Tunes on Tuesday nights. It was fun. The bears hung out up-stairs and the others downstairs. Wayne Smith who is an Cher impersonator loved her bears.
they used to play this clip from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, called Seven Fat Cows. Very up-beat, Elvis themed scene. It got me interested in seeing the show. When I was in Chicago, I saw the show and had a really good time. I have been wanting to see it again, since I bought the DVD and soundtrack, and now know the show.

The show is playing this weekend at City College. [livejournal.com profile] tecwizsfo is really not interested in seeing the show. Soooo, if anyone in the area is interested, let me know. I will buy your ticket, we can meet for dinner and then head to see the show. And yes, I am a show tune queen. I love musicals. Ohh, and [livejournal.com profile] tecwizsfo does too, he just won't admit it.. (Chicago, Sound of Music.) Love you bear. Hehehe

So shoot me a reply, I have 2 tix reserved for Sat night 8pm.
Later

Joseph!

Hey Dave,

If I lived in SF, I'd definitely go see the show!

"I closed my eyes, drew back the curtain, to see for certain, what I thought I knew...."

Wow, I love Joseph! I saw "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" twice, it was lots of fun. I saw it once in Providence, RI with Sam Harris and then once in Boston with Donny Osmond. In fact when I saw it in Boston, during the last scene when Joseph's huge coat unfurls and he rises above the audience singing, Donny actually dripped sweat on me. I had front row mezzanine tickets. It was pretty funny! The Colonial theatre in Boston is pretty small and Donny was literally right above me.

I don't listen to show tunes a whole lot, but I learned a lot of the lyrics and saw a lot of Broadway shows through my good friend Chau. She actually played Kim in "Miss Saigon" on Broadway and recently played Mimi in "Rent" on Broadway. I know when Joseph was on Broadway with Michael Damien (is that him???) she was in the chorus for a while. My friend is going to be the lead in a brand new show to open next Spring. The name escapes me, but it's suppose to be a blockbuster. I'll keep you posted, and I'm sure if you go to NYC, I can get you free tickets to lots of shows.

Let me know how the show is, I'd love to hear about it. I have the Broadway CD with Michael Damien (the soap opera guy). I haven't listened to it in ages!

Hugs, Angus

I'm so there! Having seen half of Joseph in Toronto some years ago (long boring story), I didn't realize how much fun it'd be. Now have the DVD and CD. This show could get my "best Weber" award (not that there's much competition in Weberland).

Possible to go some night other than Saturday? I have an engagement that night. Cool!
