2004 Seemed like a pretty big year for me. With so much going on. I have been in SF for 1 year and 1 month.
It started off with the continuation of being part of a Bear documentary. I had a camera guy follow me around to various things I did. Gym, Dentist, shopping, Square dancing, 2-Stepping. Volunteering for BOSF at the Lonestar.
I got to bust a person at work for using hateful language towards gays in the workplace.
In Feb, I entered in the International Mr. Bear contest. I did not win, but I had a blast doing it. While I was very dissappointed in who was chosen the winner, it was a great time, and I met so many wonderful people. Made some great new friends, and just had a great great time!
I went to my first Dore Alley, and Folsom Street Fair's I did not enjoy Dore, but enjoyed Folsom. I think it had to do with the fact that I was at Folsom with a friend. I was alone at Dore. Made it less interesting.
In mid August, right before Hairrison, my partner of 2 and a half years called it quits on me. He was in my opinion, the best partner a person could ever have. We never fought. We agreed on almost everything. We just plain had fun. He decided he needed a new direction in life, and I was not going to stand in the way of him being truly happy one day. Richard I will always love you.
I totally love Hairrison Street Fair. A fun weekend, great people, just a great event. I was behind getting country dancing there for Sunday.
I was there even though my break up was 2 days earlier. I also decided that my break up was not going to get in the way of me being happy and having fun either!
I dropped off the board of the Sundance Association. Everything I was doing with my life was turning out to be for others. I was not doing enough for me! I decided it was time to drop doing some things, and start to focus on things that I really liked. Doing this gave me time to spend time with friends, and do the things I really liked to do.
I really started getting on LJ much more. It has been fun meeting new people and reading about their lives, and sharing my life with them too. You guys are all awesome.
In November, I FINALLY got a job in the city. YAY. No more commute to Mountain View.
On December 24th, I got the keys to my new apartment in the city. I needed to really be single if I was going to be single. I loved living in Richard's house, and miss it very much. Just knowing he was there when I went to bed gave me a sense of security! I miss the cat too!
I got rid of my car. I am officially a pedestrian! I hope that goes well for me. I have not been without one in a long time. I hope not having it will help me trim up more and get my body in better shape and in better health.
Health wise, 2004 has not been too bad. Had several colds. One that lasted 3 weeks. Picked up a thing from a bear hug! Thank goodness for antibiotics and Magnet!
Ohhh one of my big highlights was starting the San Francisco Movie Bears group. It is nice to go out every week with a bunch of guys who like movies. 2005 should be just as much fun.
So, 2005 starts out with a lot of new for me. New Year, New Apartment, New Job, New method of transportation. Hopefully some great new friends, and great new things to see and do, and adventures to live.
