Mr San Francisco Bear
Oct. 11th, 2004 08:14 amWell, my reign as Mr. San Francisco Bear has come to an end. I will of couse always be Mr. SF Bear 2004. The contest was pretty interesting. I have never judged a contest like this before. Having to come up with questions for the contestants was an experience. I was dissappointed that
bigreddee did not enter. Everyone I know thought he could win the Mr. SF Bear title, and have a great chance to win International Mr. Bear. He did say that had he not gotten so trashed on Sat night, he would have entered. To which I told him "Next year, I am going out with you on Sat night, and not letting you get so trashed" He smiled an agreed. I love that big guy! Who doesn't??
My year was not a very big year for Mr. SF Bear. I put on a couple of fundraisers. Did not do very well due to bar attendance. I entered the International bear contest. We all know THAT story. And I was one of the key stars in a documentary about bears and contests which I am told is in post production and they plan on releasing it in 2005. I have no other details about it, but will keep everyone posted.
People asked me if I was upset about stepping down from the title. I said no, becuase I had a nice year. And it was just time for someone else to take the reings.
I met a lot of nice people last night. I am amazed at the number of nice people in SF, and who visit. The friendliness is just something I will always enjoy here. I did not get that in Dallas. The hard part of course is remembering all the names. I never want to offend, but I just cannot remember everyone.
Well, congrats to Ron who won Mr. SF Bear, and Joe who won Mr. Bay Area Cub. Damn Joe you got a great smile. I was rooting for you both.
