Relapse WTF

Okay, that is it. If it werent for the fact that I like to kiss men, I would give it up. I spend almost 2 weeks fighting off a cold, and just when I feel great and have a good weekend, my week has to start off with feeling crappy again.

My sinus's started dripping and my throat started to hurt from it. Then as the day goes on, my muscles started aching, Dammit dammit dammit. I think I am going to cancel some plans this week and stay in.

Dave, it sounds like you have a Sinus Infection. Get yourself to your Doctor and ask for a Z-pack (Zithromax). Trust me, you'll feel better.

[identity profile] dhbearguy.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmmm Z-Pack. I will call them and get an appt asap
hugs

Big hug to you always and get better OK? Let me know if you need anything. Love, Nurse Ratchett

got extras around

[identity profile] lindyboi.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, I think I have some of that. Is that what they give you when you pick up certain other fun things? On a mostly un-related note, it was that weekend that I tried on a fuzzy green dress I bought on the street, slept on a friend's couch, and had a certain bear give me some good tummy rubbin' that I picked up a case of the critters. Definitely seems unfair.

Yeah, does seem unfair. At least the tummy rubbin bear was not the source of the critters. Hugs

A Z-Pack or Zithromax is a one a day for 5 day anitbiotic. So you do not have to take 2 for 10 days. Which sucks. They are really strong. When I lived in Texas, i just used to call my dentist when I needed one. He was so good to me.

I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a Sinus Infection. I get them at least once sometimes twice a year. Same symptoms. And this year has been really bad. lots of crap in the air this year.

*hug* the z-pack will do the trick ber...get better!

[identity profile] dhbearguy.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
It is like pulling teeth now. I just called Kaiser. Wanted to see me Friday. I was like. FRIDAY? Um how about tomorrow. How about a message to my doc for antibiotics?

Will hear back from them in the am.

For Z-packs, my doctor usually will just talk to me on the phone and then call in the script to the pharmacy.

Hope you feel better soon. Kisses! Hugs!

I called Kaiser and they said they have to see me for that. Nevermind that I just was there last week with my cold symptoms. I go to blue cross insurance on the 1st of December. Maybe I can get a better doctor?

[identity profile] hotelbearsf.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Trust me, you can get a better Doctor. Kaiser sucks. One of my friends had gone to see his Kaiser doc for months and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Then he went into renal failure and fortunately they were able to reverse it. He's definately switching docs so when you get the chance, do the switcheroo and quick.

I have Blue Cross. and BTW... I have a really good gay Dr. he's on Castro at the Medical center there at Castro and Duboce His name is Dr. Cuba

[identity profile] dhbearguy.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks hunni, appreciate it.

Poor guy :( Big huggles.

You honestly need rest to put this one down. It will just keep coming back otherwise.

It could be viral; not bacterial. ;-|

When I was thinking about your symtpoms; I remembered my bouts with Sinusitis. Usually, I can alleviate it by using saline solution and having a hepa filter/ionizer combination. However, if it really is Sinusitis, normally it doesn't lead to aches & muscular pains. My worst case scenario involved a large sebaceous cyst which began to grow in my forehead region. When I really get a serious bout with Sinusitis; it takes Erythromycin to get rid of it. Of course, that disrupts my gastrointestinal system for several days- not a heck of a lot of fun, either. If it is viral however, it might be alleviated by taking a lot of vitamin C- drinking orange or other citrus juices, eating chicken soup, etc. In any case, I wouldn't take any chances with your health and I would go see a physician asahp. Case in point, it isn't funny to have an infected sebaceous cyst and have to drive to the emergency room to have it removed. Here's to you feeling great soon.
