Mr. SF Bear 2005, Bay Area Cub 2005...

Howdy all,

The Mr. SF Bear 2005 and Bay Area Cub 2005 contests will be held together at the Lonestar this Sunday. If you have ever thought about it, or just wanted a cool vest with a patch, consider it and head on out this Sunday. I will be there to give up my title.

Hope to see ya there.

LOL With no facial hair now, I wouldn't stand a chance.

Oh come on now. A beard does not a bear make? Well some people will argue with that. Not me. You are whatever you want to be.

EXACTLY! I wouldn't stand a chance because 99.8 percent view "bears" as bearded, etc etc.

I don't do well with contests anyway. The only contest I ever won was chess.

So I have a question for you. How much did you have to do as Mr. SF Bear this past year? Volunteering, speaking, showing up to events, etc. I'm curious about your past year as the title holder, and how you would recommend it to everyone.

Good question.

What you have to do as Mr. SF Bear.

1. Run for International Mr. Bear. Run package and entrance paid for by John Caldera.

2. I don't think this is required, but it is asked that you host at least 2 fundraisers. It was very easy to work with the 2 bars that I worked with.. Daddy's and Sundance.

I am sure the Lonestar would have been just as willing as well to help out and the Edge also talked to me, but I did not get back with them.

It is not a lot of hard work. It was fun, and I found it rewarding to help volunteer for BOSF when they asked me to help out with their Sunday Beer Busts as Mr. SF Bear.

Personally D, I think you would make a GREAT Mr. SF Bear.

We'll see. I don't know if I'm sold on it all. It's a big commitment. The vest would be kind of cool, but, I don't know if I'm much of a big-time competitor for the title.

Plus, I think I'd be more likely to get put into the Cub category. With about 20 more pounds...

I don't think it is too big. IBR is the biggest commitment. I think you would however make a great representative for San Francsico. Hugs.

OMG... If you did it Donovan, you would so win.

I told Dave the same thing last year, didn't I Dave?

As Dave stated below, the commitment is mostly to run in the IBR Contest and since we haven't have a San Francisco winner at IBR for several years (Although Mr. Hayes made a valiant effort last year), maybe you'll finally break the San Francisco winner curse?!?

i wholeheartedly agree.

donovan = shoe in.

'nuff said.
