The things I do for bears!

So, I mentioned to someone that I have lost money on the SFMoviebears thing. And he replied that he didn't think I did because I got all this money donated in the beginning.

So here is the scoop.

I raised about $150.00 from solicitations. This allowed me to purchase thirty (30) $5.00 movie passes. With the number of people attending recently, I have raised that number to 50. That comes to $100.00 I put in to make sure that eveyone can get a discount ticket.

On top of that, I get charged a shipping fee ranging from $3.00 - $15.00 every week when I order more tickets. I am not collecting these fees from anyone, they are coming out of my pocket. The $15.00 would be if we did an opening night and I needed to have the discount tickets shipped to me overnight for a short RSVP.

So if anyone has thought, (I am sure you have not), SF Moviebears is NOT a money making venture for me at all. But I have been really enjoying doing it, and have been very happy with attendance! I feel like I have accomplished something good!!!

Don't you think only those who put up the initial $10 for coupons should get the coupons? As new bears join, require a $10 membership fee for the first movie in addition to the $5. And keep track of who the coupon patrons are. I know this adds to the housekeeping, but it's that or you'll be subsidizing more and more bears until you can't bear it (no pun intended).

Maybe down the road I could do something like that. Or just increase the cost of the ticket by a buck. Any money that would be extra would certinally go back to benefit the moviebears. Or I could donate it to charity.
