IBR Saturday Part I

Here it is. Saturday events. What a fun day Saturday was. Got up after a wonderful nights sleep with Richard. Went to get a bite to eat, then headed to Squares for Bears. What a GREAT time. All these cute guys learning to Square dance. Funny though how you get in a square with someone who has been dancing forever, comes across with this I hate everyone attitude who thinks he can dance sooo well, and then ends up angeling you in the total wrong direction, when you know you are going the right direction.

There was a hottie wearing a Utilikilt who I danced with and was fun to look at. There was also a cute guy from England who I was in the lesson with. He was very friendly. Actually too friendly for Richard to see. Richard got upset with all the attention he was giving me. Partially my fault, I should have been more attentive to Richard since he was there. I love Richard, and anytime he is upset because of something involving me, be it my fault or not, I feel soo bad. I love you Richard. Bravo to Andy for the awesome energy he put into the class. Big success.

After that, the contestants got together outside the Ramada at 1:30 to walk to the Powerhouse for the contestant/judge meet and greet. It was a good time. Richard and I took a couple country songs to do a little snuggle dancing. I got a chance to chat with the other contestants, and we were introduced to the judges. YAY, now we know who they are.

I found one thing very disturbing, and that was that one of the contestants set himself apart from the rest of us. Scott from LA. He wore a gladiator outfit. I did not see him being a separatist before, but I am told he was like that all weekend. I was really disappointed that he did not click with any of the other contestants. I know had I been a judge I would have made note of it and probably even questioned it at the interview.

After the Powerhouse, we headed to the Eagle for beer bust and to sell more raffle tickets. The sales were very slim, lot less people and with 15 people selling tickets, it made for slim pickins. I did have a good time and got to see a lot of people that I have not seen in a while.

After that was over, we headed out for a bite to eat at Subway with [livejournal.com profile] fuzzygruf and Steve. They asked who I thought would win. I told them me of course, and was sure that Scott would not get anything. Steve was rooting for Scott because of how he sold raffle tickets. Hmm, if that was the case, it sure is sad!!!

Well, part II is on the way. Bear Da Bingo.

IBR Saturday Part II (BINGO)

Saturday night went well from the beginning. All the contestants arrived on time to have Sister Betty let us know what we were going to do for the opening number. It was a really dorky thing involving a shower curtain and shower caps and back scrubbers. We were doing a bathing song from the bear in the blue house or something like that. Hmm, I think I dropped the soap. But it was fun and everyone participated.

Bingo was on. Betty introduced us all. She had a couple of us out front with our shirts off. Something to keep the kiddies occupied. Everyone was have a really good time.

The next bear out on stage was myself. I got up there and of course Betty knew who I was since I have been to Sister Bingo many times. Well, Betty decide she would auction off my ass to be paddled. I did not do anything to deserve it, just happened to be the wrong bear to hit the stage. Betty opened the bids and some heckler bid 5 cents. Hmm, I think I know who it was. Then my friend Steve bid $200.00, after I told him I did not want him to bid. Didn't care how much money he had. I would have settled for the 5 cents.

Well, of course in the name of charity, Betty took the bid and invited Steve up there to give me 2 whacks. I have seen Steve with a paddle before, and I knew I was in for some serious pain. Of course I was hoping that he would give me a break. NOPE. He took his first whack and I was suddenly reminded of my 7th grade social studies class where the teacher used to paddle those who did not do their homework. The diffence was, My mother put a total stop to that. No one would ever be paddled again.

Whack 2.. On my knees I fell and the pain was very very unbearable. I got sick to my stomach. My friend had just totally humiliated me in front of all these people. In the name of Charity, what is one to think. On camera as well. I believe I am going to have the film company leave that part out. One guy even told me that he and his friends were so offended that they left at intermission. He was considering writing to the BAR about it.

When I got back stage, all of the contestants showed up to see how I was doing. They were all very concerned and very shocked at the way it went with me out there. Some even offered to put some cold bottled water on my sore butt. Could have been fun had it not hurt so much. These guys were sooo amazing. They didn't care what was going on out front, all they cared about was that I was okay.

After a bit I decided to get my revenge. I asked all the guys to chip in $20.00 to help me get back at Steve. Not a single bear hesitated. I had in my hands $300.00 to donate and get Steve on stage to get his just reward. We all as a group right before intermission headed to the stage. Betty said "What are you bears doing, I didn't call for you". The she just backed off since we all were heading to the stage.

We got the audience to donate an extra $100 and Betty thought 1 paddle for each $100.00. I took the first two and they were pathetic. Then again, I have no experience with a paddle. So I asked if anyone out there was into that kind of thing. Sister Betty called on Sister Bearlesque (Spelling) who gave Steve 2 good shots for me. Score tied. The rest of Bingo went wonderful We did some silly things, and sold our shirts and we all got to be bingo cards for someone.

After it was over, I called it a night and headed on to bed ready for my very busy Sunday night.

Looking back on Bingo night, I do regret deciding to retaliate. I should have just turned the other cheek, or just let it go. I used to think the whole process was very fun. I even got paddled once before, but it was nothing like this. I am in the future not going to cheer for beatings, but just sit quietly and enjoy the other aspects of bingo. It will be just as fun for me if there were paddling or not. Soo with that, it is all in the past, and I am still friends with Steve. I love my new friends who came to my side to see how I was doing. Ohh, while Scott gave some bucks, he didn't come running back to check on me. Nuff said.

Sunday is almost here.
Hugs

Work Woes

Well, we have been sooo busy at work. They will not hire anyone because they say they cannot afford it. Our customers are getting pissy because they can't get good response from us.

On top of working on Saturday's I keep getting asked to stay to help take up the slack. One reason is that one of our support people has a sick Rat. yes, I said Rat. Cancer I guess and she is spending a couple grand to get it treated. The rat is 16 months old with a life span of 24 months. I just don't get it. Well, a pet is a pet I guess. I would be freaked out of our cat had a problem, but the cat shows major affection. I am sure the rat could care less.

I like dealing with the people I talk to but the hours and extra work are annoying me. And the processes they have in place need some serious re-vamping.

I am also learning a lot of things about windows servers, and Exchange. Will look great on the resume.

soo, off to bed I go to get there by 8am. Sleep tight all
hugs
